LUTON AIRPORT EXPANDING (AGAIN)
Luton airport expansion has been approved by government.
The plans involve building a new terminal, new taxiways and increasing capacity from its current 18 million passengers a year to 32 million a year; the scheme will also generate 11,000 new jobs.
A second runway is not part of the plans.
Operators at the airport will compete over the new passenger capacity, including Luton-based Easyjet, Wizz Air and Jet2.
